October is nearly over, and the calendar is turning toward November on Navarre Beach. If you are thinking about a late fall trip to the Gulf Coast, it helps to know what the month looks like on the ground, which plans make sense, and which details are worth checking yourself before you go. This guide sticks to what we can source, and where a detail could not be confirmed from an official source, we say so and point you to the right place to check. For what is still ahead this month, see our October events guide.
What the weather has looked like
We do not make weather predictions, and one month of data is not a forecast. What we can share is a record. The National Weather Service office in Mobile publishes monthly climate summaries for its Pensacola station. For November 2025, it recorded an average high of 72.8 degrees and an average low of 52.0 degrees. You can read the full summary on the National Weather Service Mobile climate page.
Those numbers describe a single November. Use them as a rough picture of the range, then check the forecast a few days before you travel. Pack layers, because a day that reaches the low 70s can still feel cool on the sound at night.
A local market on the pier
One of the more pleasant things to put on a fall itinerary is the Navarre Beach Makers Market. Local event listings describe it as returning to the Windjammer’s pier on Navarre Beach this fall, with handmade goods, art, and jewelry from local makers, free admission, and a family-friendly setting. The pier is at 8579 Gulf Blvd, Navarre Beach.
One honest caveat: the dates we found for the fall market came from event listing sites, not from the organizers, and we could not confirm the full schedule or the hours. Rather than print a date that may be wrong, we suggest checking the official Navarre Beach events calendar before you plan around it. If you enjoy markets, our earlier guide to farmers markets and fresh seafood on Navarre Beach is a good companion read.
Plans that do not depend on a schedule
Some of the best parts of a Navarre Beach stay do not need a ticket or a calendar. A few ideas from our earlier posts:
- Walk the shoreline and watch for the fall migration. We wrote about the monarch butterflies that pass through Navarre Beach in the fall, and about fall bird migration on the sound.
- Plan a day trip to the national seashore. Our Fort Pickens day trip guide covers a day trip from Navarre Beach. Before you go, check the Gulf Islands National Seashore page on nps.gov for current conditions, hours, and fees, since those can change.
- Bring a book and a blanket. The beach does not need to be an activity. Sitting on the sand or on a deck facing the water is a fine way to spend an afternoon.
Why the sound side is worth considering
Navarre Beach sits on a barrier island with the Gulf on one side and Santa Rosa Sound on the other. Stella Maris is on the sound side, which means the water in front of the house is the sound rather than the open Gulf. The photo at the top of this post shows the view from a covered deck facing the water. We cannot promise a particular sky on any given night, but a covered deck facing the water is a good place to sit when the light changes.
Planning a larger group
A fall trip can be a good time for family gatherings and friend trips, because everyone can share a single house instead of splitting up across hotel rooms. Stella Maris has five bedrooms, five full bathrooms, and two half bathrooms, and it sleeps 14. That means a larger group can cook together, sit down at the same table, and still have room to spread out.
If you are comparing places to stay, our guide to the Stella Maris vacation rental walks through the layout and what to expect from a stay.
Before you go: a short checklist
- Check the forecast a few days out and pack layers for the evenings.
- Confirm any market or event dates on the official Navarre Beach events calendar.
- Check nps.gov for current Gulf Islands National Seashore conditions if you plan a Fort Pickens visit.
- Look at the water and flag conditions before you swim. Our guide to flags, rip currents, and local rules explains how to read them.
